The melancholic roughness of the urban landscape contrasts with the warmth of the people we meet. There is a lot of sadness here but also moments of happiness and colour.
ABSTRACTING :
Flat shapes drawn from photos of Zimbabwe are cut and draped into clothing.
RECONSTRUCT :
A Zimbabwean nylon sack for concrete is unravelled, its yarn used as decorative stitching. A linen lace bed sheet becomes a dress.
FABRICS: bamboo, bamboo silk, bamboo fleece, organic cotton, pineapple(pina) silk.
